Special Provision 25

  1. These dangerous goods may be offered for transport, handled or transported under this shipping name as component parts of vehicle air bags or seat belt pretensioners if they are tested in accordance with the Series 6 type (c) test in Section 16 of Part I of the Manual of Tests and Criteria and show no explosion of the device, no fragmentation of device casings and no projection danger or thermal effect that could hinder fire fighting or other emergency response efforts. If the air bag inflator unit passes the Series 6 type (c) test, the test does not have to be repeated on the air bag module itself.

  2. These Regulations, except for Parts 1 and 2, do not apply to safety devices, electrically initiated, or safety devices, pyrotechnic, installed in road vehicles, vessels or aircraft or in completed components such as steering columns, door panels and seats.

Special Provision 135

This shipping name applies to articles that contain dangerous goods included in Class 1, Explosives, and that may also contain dangerous goods included in other classes.
